The Lede: Why We Wear the Backstory

The Uniform of the Practitioner
Here's the lede, for 30-years, I’ve watched the media landscape shift, but one thing remains constant: the weight of the stories we tell. Yet, the apparel we wear often feels disconnected from that intellectual labor. We wanted to build something that bridged that gap—what we call the High-Low Edit.
Beyond the Graphic Tee
Editorial Style isn’t just about putting words on fabric; it’s about "vibe coding" the infrastructure of our industry. Our first collection, the Integrity Series, is a nod to the foundational texts and the journalists who built the framework for modern truth-telling.
The Source Material
Every piece in this shop is a commemorative act. When we feature a quote from a 19th-century "muckraker" or a 20th-century strategist, we aren't just looking for a cool font. We are looking for the Source Material—the intellectual DNA that informs how we lead newsrooms and build products today.
The Dispatch
This space—The Dispatch—will serve as our digital archive. Here, we will dive into the history of our featured journalists, explore the intersection of media and design, and share dispatches from the front lines of the Civic Desk.
Welcome to the newsroom. It’s time to wear the backstory.
